I recently received an email from an ADI asking what our course could do to possibly benefit them, as they were already busy and had a good pass rate.
I thought a little about this and it made me think, why do people come on our course and what do they get out of it – why do some ADIs seek more? I asked these questions of people who have been on our course and the answers that came back basically were all the same – ‘It makes me strive to gain more and not sit on my laurels because you are only as good as your last testimonial and you know there are some days when you don’t perform as well as you should'. As you know, in this industry recommendations are the life-blood of being an ADI so how do you ensure you will always keep those recommendations rolling in? How do you keep up your performance? How do you keep your standards high? How do you measure what you are doing? Well the BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching for Driver Development helps you assess all these. It helps you look at yourself because, as with any small business, you are the most important asset and you need to look after you. Have a look at the testimonials below from some great ADIs. These are from people, who possibly thought ‘what am I doing?’ when they first signed up for our course; and then when they finished they wrote these testimonials for you to read. We have hundreds of these, so come and join people who have been on an adventure and enjoyed a journey of self-discovery where every journey is different. Judy Hale – ‘Tri coaching is an amazing life changing experience which will enhance your personal life and your professional life 100%. You cannot afford not to get involved it really is that good Go on give it a go - I did so I'm speaking to you from experience’ Stewart Lochrie - ‘I came across Tri-Coaching Partnership in 2012 when I was looking for some kind of additional qualifications to study or courses to attend. I wasn’t happy with my standard of driving instruction, and felt that the challenges of ensuring "safe driving for life" were being ignored by the industry. It’s a catchphrase – not a commitment. After driving down, flying down, missing connecting trains to get down to Milton Keynes to attend the modules, I began (slowly) to realise that what was missing for me was the link between beliefs and behaviour; that is, you can change someone’s behaviour in the short term, but you can only change that behaviour in the long term by addressing beliefs. You can’t instruct someone to change their beliefs. You can’t tell them their beliefs are wrong. You can’t undo 10-15 years of external influences on a teenager’s attitude to risk, safety and authority in 45 hours of driving lessons. They have to do it themselves. Part 3 does not prepare PDIs to even begin to scratch the surface of these issues. I politely disagree with ADIs who say there’s no need for coaching. I politely disagree with ADIs who blame the DVSA for trying to make things difficult (the Standards Check is an excellent step forward, but it’s not enough). I politely disagree with ADIs who think everything is fine, and that we can’t do any more to help the young drivers who drive their cars into trees on country roads at 3am. Everything is really not fine. You’ll note that I "politely" disagree. I can’t tell you that you’re wrong you see, because you believe you are right. I’d be wasting my time and yours. The only person who can change your mind about the value of CCL and coaching is you. For me, it really is as simple as that. Oh, and everyone at TCP is epic. There’s no other organisation in the country that comes close to their commitment to raising the standards of ADIs.’ Carol Morley – ‘Tri Coaching are a credit to the industry because they have actually done something to benefit it. How many can say that? They have transformed my passion for driver training especially after 25 years in the industry. Since completing the BTEC Level 4 my outlook has totally changed. Client Centred Learning is the best thing to happen to this industry, it can be used effectively in a class room environment, fleet training, police training, instructor training and learner driving. After the BTEC I decided to continue my development and completed a degree in Coaching and Driver Education. I couldn't thank them enough’ After reading these testimonials can you afford to miss our next courses, we will support you and help you every step of the way.
