Tri Coaching Fiona Taylor talks continual professional development, coaching and behavioral change8/5/2020 Tri Coaching Fiona Taylor talks continual professional development, coaching and behavioral change. Fiona specialise's in CCL (Client Centred Learning) and Coaching for Driver Development, having passed the BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching for Driver Development in 2011, she has continued to develop and advance my skills in helping you master your own. The course lasts for one year and is a Vocational Qualification, so I had to develop and practice the skills every day to change and improve. It launched my Career into multiple avenues; and my lesson delivery improved vastly, benefiting those in the Driver’s seat. In 2018 I was invited as one of only 4 other Professionals Nationally to Deliver that same BTEC Level 4 in Milton Keynes, and now Kent. I deliver the Course for one week at a time to other Driving Instructors who travel at 3 monthly intervals to attend and complete their year of training. The BTEC Level 4 course lasting one whole year is the equivalent standard to a first year of a Degree at University. The awarding body is Pearson. Delivering the BTEC 4 course is one of my proudest achievements to date. Coaching, in my opinion is an approach that empowers the Driver to learn in the ways that suit them the most. The relationship is equal and non-judgemental. Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. Coaching, if you choose to learn with me, is a holistic approach to you and your learning. We will use your existing skills as a pedestrian, cyclist, passenger and adult! You have a lifetime of experience which should not be discounted, but embraced! You have a lot of experience as a road user already, and we, as a team, will use THAT wealth of knowledge, adding in some car control to develop your confidence and skills at ‘reading the road ahead’! Nervous learners, or Full Licence Holders or anyone with extra needs for example people with Dyslexia or Dyspraxia are very welcome! I am confident that I can help you learn the best way – YOUR way! You are welcome to enjoy a taster session with no financial commitment you can find out more here https://fionadrive.com/adi-pages/the-... BTEC 4 Coaching Course Content The course is split into 4 modules, each with a one-day classroom session which is backed up by a self-development project or assignment. There is also a fifth day which is delivered in the car. Module 1 This unit focuses on client centred learning and the importance of effective communication in order to facilitate the development of safe, responsible drivers. Module 2 This unit focuses on the use of feedback as a means of facilitating the development of both the driving instructor and the learner driver. Different feedback techniques are examined and practised in a classroom context prior to the candidate experimenting with them in real-life driving situations. Module 3 This unit focuses on the importance of structuring a coaching conversation during a driving lesson to achieve raised awareness and self-responsibility on the part of the student driver. Module 4 This unit focuses on the Goals for Driver Education and considers how these can be achieved through driver coaching. The Goals for Driver Education is a framework which sets out the competencies that should be achieved in order for newly qualified drivers to remain safe and crash free on the roads. In-Car Coaching This is a day in the car with a trainer and three students. The day takes place on the Sunday before the final classroom day in Module 4. In-car coaching is an opportunity for students to practise everything they have learned so far in a practical environment. They will be looking at structuring a coaching conversation by using GROW and delivering this conversation with essential coaching skills of rapport, listening, questioning, feedback and intuition.
